Geocache Description:

So, here I was out in the middle of the desert minding my own business, when...

I happen upon a friendly couple out here.  As it turns out, Bobby & Madeline were trying to geocache as well, had very little experience with geocaching, but agreed that there sure wasn't much in the way of geocaches out here.  We decided that this was just the spot for a geocache. Wide open vistas with interesting and sometimes barren scenery, a sprinkle of history, a random thought or a need to take a break from the open road were some of the countless reasons for a geocache.  We remarked at how much solitude could be had out here if you wanted to.

It was funny, we started talking about politics, religion, who is the best baseball team and other controversial subjects. Eventually we started talking about geocaching and how passionate people can be with their opinions and how the game must be played.  We came to the same conclusion, that geocaching is what you make of it and that everyone is best off to cache how they want, where they want and however often they choose.  They described that their favorite cache of all time was a regular sized one, as they were able to open it easily and it had plenty of great treasure inside but were not apposed to finding a micro if they came across one. The funniest part of our conversation was the fact that Bobby can't stand to be around people, while Madeline is a regular social butterfly, flirting any chance she gets. Just like geocaching, you can be as social as you want to be.

When all was said and done, we thanked each other for the great conversation & spirited debate, and then went on our separate ways.  As I drove away, I couldn't help thinking to myself, that if these two can get it, why can't everybody else understand the simple beauty of geocaching...

Get off the couch and get out there doing something!
