Geocache Description:

Welcome to the Highlander Cache Chronicles!

When Roy opened his eyes there was a brilliant, blinding light and a sort of warbling in his ears. He blinked repeatedly, trying to focus his vision, but he could only make out vague shadows. The warbling became more of an excited chatter, high-pitched and almost musical, and he could hear a kind of whirring sound at his side.

He tried to lift his arms and sit up, but he discovered he was strapped down to a table. His head pounded and he felt a wave of nausea wash over him. Swallowing hard to keep from puking, he wondered “Well, Neary, how did you get yourself back in this situation again, and what do these creeps want this time?” as he drifted back into a deep sleep.

The first thing Roy noticed when he awoke again was that the chattering had stopped. He felt no straps on his body, so he sat up. Bringing his hands to his face, he rubbed his eyes. The light was less glaring now, and he was slowly able to make out more detail in his surroundings. He found himself sitting on a lumpy bed in a cheesy motel room. From the bathroom he could hear the sound of a dripping tap, and through an open window came the noise of traffic on a busy city street.

He rolled off the bed and stumbled toward the bathroom, grabbing a newspaper from the dresser. The headline screamed out “Homeless man sees strange lights in sky”. He dropped it into the wastebasket, and caught a glimpse of his reflection in the mirror. That’s when he saw the foot-long scar on his abdomen. He cringed as he ran his fingers over the still-tender tissue. “Aww, crap!" he hissed, "Those freaking aliens took my kidney – again!” Splashing a little cold water on his face and neck helped to clear his head.

In the other room the door opened and a woman walked in carrying an armload of towels. “Maid service” she blurted out, somewhat startled to see Roy come out of the bathroom. “D-d-do you need towels, sir?” she stuttered, holding out a mostly-clean white towel for him, her gaze fixed on Roy’s bright pink scar.

“What time is it?” Roy mumbled as he grabbed a towel to dry his face, and hide his scar.

“11 o'clock” she replied “Checkout time is one.”

“Where am I?”

“Room 13, City Centre Motel.”

“I meant what city?”

“Vancouver.”

That’s when it all came back to him. Of course, Vancouver, and the Gathering! Roy is an immortal, and he, along with others like him had come to Vancouver for the Gathering, where only one of them will survive to collect the Prize.

Can you help Roy determine where the Gathering will take place? You need to find all the caches in this series and collect clues from them to locate where these immortals will be doing battle.

Remember, there can be only ONE!

The cache is a small camo-painted L&L that contains the usual log book and swag. You will find the clue for the final written on the inside back cover of the log book. If you cannot find or read the log book, the coordinates are also written on the underside of the lid.
