Geocache Description:

 

 

Tre Comuni’s lake is the biggest lake among the natural lakes of FVG (6500 meters long), and touches three villages: Cavazzo carnico, Bordano and Trasaghis, and this is why it’s called “the lake of the three villages”. The lake is alimented both artificially and naturally, from underground water sources. In addiciton the fish fauna, flora and birdlife is very rich. A wide cane thicket occupies the south side of the lake, a perfect habitat for many animals like birds and fishes. Carp, tench, royal perch,eels and trouts find a perfect envirorment to live and reproduct themselves. On the path that runs along the river’s shore, you can find many birdwatching spots, like apposite piers and sightseeing towers, where you can observe the large birdlife of the lake: morheens, coots, kingfishers, many types of gooses, and with a little bit of luck herons too, during their migration. The valley is also known for the presence of many species of native butterflyes! Small normal plastic container.
