The BIG Show Mystery Cache

This cache has been archived.

Highlander 71: I made a visit to GZ today but a lot of bush clearing and digging that has taken place seems to have made the container disappear. For that reason I have decided to archive it. Apologies to all who have solved the puzzle but didn't make the find.

Cache on!

Geocache Description:

NOTE: Cache is NOT at posted coordinates!

Cable television didn’t begin to have a significant impact in some parts of Greater Vancouver until the 1970s, so when I was a kid we watched only a handful of TV channels that our little “rabbit-ears” antenna could pick up. There was channel 2 CBUT (CBC), channel 8 CHAN (CTV), along with its sister station channel 6 CHEK from Victoria, but most of our favourite shows came in from Bellingham on KVOS, channel 12.

Weekday afternoons KVOS would show cartoons and kids’ programming when we got home from school (Frisky Frolics, Fun-O-Rama). Next, in the early evening, movies were showcased on a program simply titled The Big Show. Because KVOS was a small-budget station, these typically weren’t great Oscar-nominated films, but they were still fun to watch. As a tribute to The Big Show, I invite you to have a look at the movie quotes below. By figuring out which movie they are taken from you should quickly be able to track down the cache. Remember to THINK BIG!

A. "Smokey, my friend, you are entering a world of pain."
B. "Invisible! I've never been invisible before!"
C. "Oh, you don't need a picture. Just look up 'handsome' in the dictionary."
D. "That's OK. I never did have much luck with sex anyway."
E. "Three dimes, a hundred dollar bill and 87 ones."
F. "Sooner or later I rub everybody the wrong way."
G. "Eventually he was hospitalized for being such a nerd."
H. "I don't mind if you don't like my manners, I don't like them myself. They are pretty bad. I grieve over them on long winter evenings."
I. "You're going to explain to your kids that you met their mother while she was waitressing at Hooters?"
J. "Go ahead and scream your head off! We're miles from where anyone can hear you!"
K. "Nicko! Don't play with the food! When I was your age, we didn't have food!"

Once you have gathered the information you need from each movie quote, use it to replace the letters in the string of coordinates shown below:

N 49 KB.B(I-K)E W 123 (J*2).(C+D)(H-1)(F+G-A)

You will need to be stealthy near GZ. Such tried and true methods as pretending to talk on your cell phone, re-tying your shoelace, or having a loud and vigorously animated discussion with your invisible friend seem to work well for me! You are looking for a small round camo-painted L&L container.
