Criminals, you mutter to yourself, are rarely considerate. Why couldn't they just commit nice, simple crimes at nice, simple hours on nice, simple days when the sun is shining and flowers are blooming? Would that be so hard? But oh, no, they have to go and wait until half past two in the morning so you get woken from a sweet dream by a phone call, and have to rub sleep from your bleary eyes while listening to rain pattering steadily on the roof.
It isn't the first time you've questioned why exactly you ever wanted to be a detective. It's never like it was in those Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew books. Why can't it be, just for once? Just one time?
But criminals are what they are, and you knew what you were signing up for. So, even though the days when you thought ten in the evening was the proper time to start getting dressed to go out to dinner are long gone, you pull on your boots and reach for your trusty notepad. Someone had to go and get killed at the Boddy Mansion tonight, it seems,and it'll be your job to unravel the tangled threads apparently woven by a bunch of people who had nothing better to do than party the night away and then yank you from your dreams.
Well, the Boddy Mansion is where it went down and the Boddy Mansion is where you need to go. The sooner you get this all wrapped up, the sooner you can go back to bed.
