Log only bring pen. At the corner of a small cemetery. Beautiful drive in the wood, check out Falling Spring just down the road. Old water wheel, ponds and cabin. Toilet, picnic tables, trails, and parking.
If you have driven the back roads then you might have been here before, it's just down the road from Falling Spring. Falling Springs is a small area where the US Forest Service owns a water wheel, pond, cabin and trails. Can it get any better than this? But you have to go down the road to get there. No wonder people are still wanting their final resting place here.
Our trip came by the way of Hwy 160 to J highway (past Camp 5 Irish Wilderness, but that's a different cache) down the back roads. Yes, all gravel but so pretty. Hawks, snakes, turkey, turtles were all seen from the car today. Then the road was smaller and smaller. Looks like some of this road could be a stream bed when the rivers are up. Here I found one of my favorite plants, Blue Star Milkweed, well several. I started mine from seed I got in Ava.
Several people I know kept saying you have never been to Fall Springs??? I kept having to say no I've never been there so today was the day. After taking the back roads there we took Hwy 19 north to US Hwy 60 and home. I can say I have been there and WOW it is a great little place just down the road. Bring lunch.
