Due to very close-by muggle residences, this cache was placed at the Eden Romero Memorial Park, several hundred feet southeast of the cemetery and church. The beautiful church is SAN VICENTE DE PAUL IGLESIA CATHOLICA.
Punta de Agua was officially established in 1878 but was settled before that around 1850. Its name "point of water" was derived from the spring, and in recent times is known as Punta. Located about 7 miles nortwest of Mountainair, its post office operated from 1890 to 1913.
This cemetery holds many of the pioneers, settlers, homesteaders, ranchers and farm hands that contributed to the continued existence of this area.
We solicit the volunteer efforts of cachers like yourselves to place a "Spirit" cache at or near a cemetery of your choosing.
