How Geocaching Works

Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer.

Geocache Description:

Camo'd large plastic container, outside of cemetery, northeast corner.  To avoid direct muggling from across the street, park your cache-mobile in such a way as to block your activity.

Torreon in Spanish meaning fortified tower, for the towers still standing near Manzano and built by the Spaniards as a fortification against the Apache and Navajos.  Post office has been operating intermittently from 1895 to present.  The town site was built on the "Piros of the Salinas" pueblo ruins.

This cache is dedicated to those pioneers who lived and died here.

We solicit volunteer efforts by cachers to place a "Spirit" cache at or near a cemetery of their choice.
