Geocache Description:

With the movie 'Pacific Rim' coming out in 2013, the word 'Kaiju' has hit the mainstream.  Kaiju means 'strange beast' or more commonly 'giant monster'.  This is a series dedicated to Kaiju - the beginning SWAG are custom made double-sided Kaiju trading cards!

Godzilla has fought many enemies over his career, but his true arch-enemy is King Ghidorah!

How to describe King Ghidorah?  (He began as just Ghidrah, but later added the royal namesake...)  He is a dragon of sorts...with ONE pair of wings, TWO tails, and THREE heads!?!  (But strangely enough, ZERO arms!?!?)

King Ghidorah makes for an awesome bad guy.  His three heads are on long serpentine necks and when he shoots his squiggly yellow heat rays from each mouth, typically they are going in all kinds of different directions!  He is a huge monster - bigger even than Godzilla and in the 1964 movie, "Destroy All Monsters", he takes on SEVEN monsters at once!  (He comes out on the short end of the stick.)

In a later 'reboot' of the Godzilla universe in 1991's "Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah", Godzilla actually kills King Ghidorah by blowing off the center head with his atomic breath.  However, the dead monster rises from the grave when he is rebuilt with alien technology into the even cooler-looking Mecha-King Ghidorah!

I specifically choose this spot for the King Ghidorah cache.  It is underneath (yes, underneath) the horizontal trunk of a tree which also has another trunk that is exactly perpendicular and straight vertical as well.  Those trunks remind of how King Ghidorah heads would move in crazy ways...

King Ghidorah - A worthy kaiju enemy!
