Ok so who’s up for a nice energetic workout?

Well then lets get started

First go get dressed into the appropriate workout gear (walking boots, warm jacket, hat, scarf etc (weather dependant).
Don’t forget your water whatever the weather.

THE WARM UP

After parking in the Pucks Glen car park remove yourself from your vehicle and while standing on the spot do 10 star jumps followed by 10 squats. Have a gentle jog around the car park and your ready to go.

STRETCH

Follow the green route up through the wooded area. Sip on your water as you go we don’t want to get dehydrated. At the top you will come to a bench. You may rest here for a bit if you wish but keep it short we don't want the heart rate to drop (Watch the bench its wobbly). When you’re ready walk down the stairs then follow the Upper Glen route until you reach the main forest track.

MAIN WORKOUT (STAGE 1)

Now to increase the heart rate a little more - Follow the black markers (The upper Pucks Glen loop), until you reach the hairpin bend.

Remember keep sipping on your water.

MAIN WORKOUT (STAGE 2)

Head to the Open Hill Access and now just follow the arrow on your GPS.

REST PERIOD

Well done you have reached GZ. You are now above Puck’s Glen, at an altitude of 346m standing beside the bothy; a roofed dry stone house. A visitors’ book kept inside indicates that it was constructed over an unspecified period beginning in 1990 by a Mr John Wilson. The visitors’ book also shows that this bothy is frequently visited and is occasionally used as overnight accommodation.

You now have two choices
  1.   Locate the cache first then go inside the bothy and have a well earned break and a spot of lunch if you wish or
  2.   Go inside the bothy and have a well earned break and a spot of lunch and then locate the cache.
Either way, please have respect the work that has been put into this little bothy and don’t forget to sign the visitors book as well as the cache log.

THE CACHE IS NOT INSIDE THE BOTHY PLEASE READ THE CLUE

The cache itself is a small plastic container

MAIN WORKOUT (STAGE 3)

Ok come on sitting around all day isn’t going to get you fit lets get moving again. TIDY UP AFTER YOURSELVES AND RETURN THE DOOR TO ITS ORGINAL LOCATION Pump in the co-ordinates for the Open hill access and follow that GPS again

MAIN WORKOUT (STAGE 4)

At this point you have another choice
  1.   If you wish to finish up and head back to your car - head back down the way you came up (go to cool down next) or…
  2.   If you wish to find our other cache in the glen follow the black route through the woods from the hairpin bend (it is worth it) to your right until you reach the forest track. Turn left – follow the track along until you reach the blue markers walk down until the track splits and stay on the right track you will pass a small stone hut with a bench opposite it, keep going until the path joins another then head down following GPS co-ords for the cache. Once you’ve located the cache follow the trail down until it meets another path near the road (watch this bit if you have dogs, it is very close to the main road)
COOL DOWN

Follow the track all the way to the car park

YOU DID IT

GIVE YOURSELF A BIG PAT ON THE BACK. FLOP INTO YOUR VEHICLE - GO HOME AND GET THAT WELL EARNED SMILEY .
