Geocache Description:

This is another installment of the homeward bound series.  Make sure you get the needed information off the log.(The series is archived, but feel free to find this individual cache.)

I always liked going to my Uncle Ed’s house. He was always the “fun uncle.” He would always play with us kids. His favorite was to play pirates, and he always exclaimed he was looking for booty. This was confusing as a kid, humorous as a teenager, and I only recently realized what he was truly talking about. He would even dress up in costume, eyepatch and all, and walk around with a map. Nobody ever truly believed that he was actually looking for hidden treasure. I just assumed it was just a tattered old drawing he had, probably from when he was in kindergarten or something. Mom always told me that he had some screws loose, but I never saw any at all. We did not get to go there that much but it was always an interesting experience. Recently he has gotten more and more into the pirate motif. It seems as though everytime I talk to him, he has a new story about some kind of “artifact” that he has acquired. Supposedly they are all from his treasure hunts, but they look kind of like licensed movie toys from McBurgeralds to me. I am beginning to think mom was right about some screws being loose.

Well, recently he gave his old laptop computer. As I was sorting through his old files and trying to figure out which ones to delete and which ones to, keep I came across something very interesting. I can’t seem to make a whole lot of sense out of it but I know the geocaching community is a lot smarter than I am. I have uploaded the image for you that I can only believe is a map to hidden treasure. I assume that it is in the West Michigan area since that is where he has lived his whole life. When I tried to ask him about it, he became real quiet like he was trying to hide something from me. There are only a few clues that may be helpful in your hunt. Hopefully it will be more fruitful than my attempts at information. Good luck!

P.S. No, I do not actually have an Uncle Ed and if his story sounds similar to anyone you may know, it is purely a coincidence. No insults are intended. But do keep in mind hours of operation are from 7am-10pm during the summer. Any other time is against the law.
