Geocache Description:

A gentle stroll around Overthorpe Park, these four caches should take no longer than 40 minutes. All but one of the caches are around the perimeter and the the other is just a few yards in.

Overthorpe Park is not one of the more visited parks in Yorkshire due to its lack of decent play area, ice cream van and general beauty. However, if you peel back the first layer you can reveal a nice community with a heavy interest in sport at its heart. It is home of Thornhill Trojans rugby club. It has produced some great players in its time such as Huddersfield Giants captain Danny Brough and about three quarters of the Dewsbury Rams, not forgetting my brother Paul whose classic seventies moustachioed face still graces the wall. There is a nice sports bar and function room where all are welcome to stop of for a quick swift one before picking up the next cache. It also has the cliché groups running from it such as ZUMBA, slimming world and even a line dancing club. There is all sorts going on. There is also a tarmac multi court with basketball hoops. Take care for training times and match days when the park can get pretty muggle heavy. Good luck and any feedback left in logs is read and appreciated.
