Nine Mile Hill
This hill was a distance way point for the early settlers in the area. The early wagon travelers would camp at a windmill 3 miles Northwest of here. From the top of the hill you could see the Playa lake beds and Steins pass to the southwest, Lordsburg and the Pyramid Mts to the southeast, The Burro Mts to the northeast, and Carlise and Steeple Rock to the northwest. The Gila river is 15 miles due north of this point.
