Geocache Description:

What's this?  A brand new trail in the southern part of Brushy Peak?

Some new territory has opened up in Brushy Peak, as well as a new trailhead that enters the park well to the south of the main entrance. The cache is a magnetic bison tube container hidden about 8 or 9 feet up, so bring your own pen. There is currently a stump to step up on; hopefully it stays in place.

At first I wanted to place this cache right at the trailhead gate, but alas, there's a proximity clash with 5 Pillars Farm 4 Cache (GC1ED61). So this will have to do, and I'll include the trailhead info as an extra waypoint. NOTE: A couple find logs have mentioned climbing over or through a barbed wire fence in order to reach the cache. This is most definitely NOT NECESSARY! Use the waypoints provided below, and you'll have no trouble reaching the cache.

The trail takes off east alongside a private Muslim cemetery before opening up into the grassy hills. You won't see many trees while hiking in this portion of the park, so be prepared with water and sunscreen as needed. Also, please respect the park curfew between 10:00 PM and 5:00 AM, and note that although dogs are permitted, they must remain leashed. Enjoy!
