A lovely sun drenched hike (7 miles round trip) along the Lower Deschutes River.
Spring and autumn are the best seasons for this trip. If you go in hot weather be sure to take lots of water.
Don't be put off by the number of cars in the parking lot. Most of those will be picnickers and mountain bikers. If you stay on the lower river trail you won't have to deal with the bikers at all and then you'll lose most everyone else after the first mile. In spite of all the various fee signs, there is no fee to park for the day.
