in our disclaimer.
This cache is placed in a small wooded area surrounded by houses (although in parts you would find it hard to believe!) It has a log, pencil and a few swaps, please use the stickoflage and bark when rehiding. Due to tree cover GPS signal may not be reliable, use hint to help you.
The area can be approached in a variety of ways as Walton is riddled with footpaths!
There are two footpaths going straight into the wood, from Stradbroke Rise or Raneld Mount (cul-de-sacs) If you park here, please be considerate to residents and do not block access or driveways.
You can also go through the playing field via footpaths from Foljambe Ave, Greenways and St Davids Rise.
The playing field has a dog area, a couple of football posts and a fenced off play area if you want to stay a while and let children have a play. There is also a seat which overlooks the hills towards Matlock, which might be nice for a rest, or a mini picnic if the weather is nice!
Our family used to live across the road on Foljambe Ave, and went to the park many times after school, we ventured into the trees once, and from that day on we called it ‘the secret woods’.
My daughter and her friend are very excited about this cache and will be looking forward to reading your logs, so let them know about anything interesting you find and add to their story!
EDIT, We have changed the cache name due to the help given by another friend of littlest Hobbit, who searched for a different place to hide the cache since it was stolen/muggled
This is the story of Emelissottes's Cache…
Once upon a time there were two girls who had been friends for years. On a bright sunny day one friend asked the other one to come walking with her parents and hunt for treasure. It was very exciting!
While they were out they went to a park, and decided to go walking in the secret woods nearby. They found abandoned dens, bike tracks and interesting trails.
Suddenly they had an idea….they would find a secret place to hide their own treasure for other people to find. They searched until they found the perfect spot, they took the co-ordinates and then thought of the perfect name!
After a bit of research and work by the geoparents, the cache was placed and the story was about to begin…….
