Geocache Description:

On the Hoyt Mountain road to Grizzly Flat and Mount Lukens, more Bulwer-Lytton rubbish awaits.

Congratulations to Linda Boatright, of Omaha, Nebraska, runner-up in the Purple Prose category with:
Corinne considered the colors (palest green, gray and lavender) and texture (downy as the finest velvet) and wondered, “How long have these cold cuts been in my refrigerator?”

Accessed from Angeles Crest by either the Dark Canyon trail or the Hoyt Mountain fire road, this ridgetop divide offers magnificent views of both the Angeles Crest, Pasadena and LA on one side, and the Angeles Forest highway, Grizzly Flat and the Big Tujunga basin on the other— at least when the air is clear.
Here you're looking for a large vitamin pill jar, painted to blend in a bit. Hopefully it's not too hard to find. Caution: Typical hazards include plentiful poison-oak, venomous snakes, ticks, thorns, foxtails, sunburn, etc. You'll most likely want your insect repellent, too; having forgotten mine, I provided many a meal for horseflies and hungry mosquitoes. They died satiated, at least. There is some shade enroute, but summer months are nevertheless hot and no water is available anywhere. This is no longer a smooth, easy trail, and absolutely no one will be around to offer assistance, should you require it. Please prepare adequately. A Forest Adventure Pass is required if parking in the Angeles Forest.
