This cache is the updated version of the original 2006 "The Treasure of the Queen Anne’s Revenge". In 2012 Hurricane Sandy destroyed the first stage Island Landing, so a new cache "Pirates Landing" cache was placed nearby.

The Treasure of the Queen Anne’s Revenge cache is based on the legendary ship Captain, Edward Teach, who later became the famous pirate Blackbeard, Captain of the Queen Anne’s Revenge. Blackbeard is one of the most dreaded and feared pirates who ever lived. He has come ashore and hidden his pirate treasure chest.
Edward Teach was one of the British privateers whose mission was to attack the ships of the enemy of Britain. The Queen Anne of Britain allowed Teach's privateer to plunder French and Spanish ships during the War of the Spanish Succession and to keep stolen goods. By war's end, Teach had become an experienced sea robber. He then joined a group of fierce Caribbean pirates.
Teach and his crew of pirates terrorized sailors on the Atlantic Ocean and Caribbean Sea from 1716 through 1718. As Teach's power and reputation as the most frightening of pirates grew, so did his beard and hair.
Now calling himself Blackbeard, he braided his beard and tied the braids with black ribbons. When preparing for battle, he had a little trick to frighten his opponents. He would tie slow burning rope and stick them up under his hat or tie them in his hair and beard to light up his face. This made him look more ferocious and menacing. Blackbeard scared everyone, in the rein of terror that lasted two long years he was a frightening sight, that looked more like the devil.
Only Blackbeard knew the location of his buried treasure chest, He bellowed that “only he and the devil knew where it was, and the longest liver shall take it.”
If you dare to search for Blackbeards hidden treasure, you must first find his hidden treasure maps, which you will have to follow to locate his treasure chest.
Blackbeard has chosen his secret spot, a woodland marsh, in the Watchung Reservation which reminds him of the Caribbean. But beware, if ye dares to continue on ye quest, these woods are full of pirate spirits who guards his treasure chest…
