Geocache Description:

With the movie 'Pacific Rim' coming out in 2013, the word 'Kaiju' has hit the mainstream.  Kaiju means 'strange beast' or more commonly 'giant monster'.  This is a series dedicated to Kaiju - the beginning SWAG are custom made double-sided Kaiju trading cards!

Godzilla has defeated many Kaiju over his career, so if your'e going to create something to beat him, why not use him as the basis for your creation!?!

Mechagodzilla is a robotic version of Godzilla.  He has simliar backfins, similar tail, and a similar roar.  But he also has an eyebeam laser, a force field and missles in his fingers, knees and toes.  He can also continue to fight even if his head is ripped off!

First introduced in 1974's, "Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla", Godzilla is thrown for a loop when he sees himself stomping across the countryside (complete with realistic flesh covering his metallic body.)  Godzilla figures it out though and defeats Mechagodzilla.  And then they brought him back in the next movie in 1975...And again in 1993...And again in 2002...And again in 2003!

Mechagodzilla is truly a great Kaiju villian for Godzilla.  It's the whole idea of having a doppleganger and what *you* can do, *he* can do better.  Mechagodzilla has come close to defeating Godzilla, but hasn't quite finished the job.  Typically, Mechagodzilla's weak spot is a lack of power or a loss of control by the humans.  (It takes a while to 'reboot' a giant Godzilla-sized computer...)  If Mechagodzilla ever gets an infinite power supply, Godzilla better watch out, but until then he'll just have to dream of the day he defeats Godzilla!
