The Big Tree (2nd edition) Traditional Cache
Bon Echo: Sad to do this but first the Big Tree was reduced to a stump and then the stump was reduced to a pile of woodchips. The cache was probably shredded with the stump. I could hang a bison on the fence but that will never live up to the FP score that this cache has earned. Thanks to everyone that visited.

The Hamilton Beach Recreation Trail: follows the Lake Ontario shoreline for about 8 km taking people from Burlington under the Lift Bridge to Confederation Park and into Stoney Creek. Interpretative panels describe the history of Hamilton's waterfront and explain the restoration process.
The trail can be very busy during periods of favorable weather. This cache is located directly off the path, and it may be very difficult to find this one without being noticed. I recommend doing this cache in the "off season" (i.e. November until March), or early in the morning.
Please Respect the Terrain only use the side trails to access the beach. do not create your own path through the dunes.
Please also respect the residents property. No caches have been placed on residential property.
UPDATE: Nov 20, 2013
There have been several comments in the logs about the cache being hard to retrieve, and the hidey-hole being filled with water. I have created a new container to solve these problems, very similiar to what I used for "Stoney Creek ends here" (GC3VY35). Clue has been altered to reflect this. Please be gentle with this new container and replace exactly as found.
This cache replaces GC2CQVT (The Biggest Tree). That cache went missing and was later archived. I tried to contact the CO in a bid to adopt the cache but never received a response. I wanted to keep the cache alive since it is an interesting hide along an excellent trail. So I replaced the container and submitted it as a new listing.
Enjoy, and please replace the cache exactly as you found it. Of course, photos from the hunt are always welcome!
