This geocache is part of the Gold Country Geocaching Poker Run 2013. All the fun of geocaching with an added twist; a poker run as well! Check goldtrail.com for more details. This is a great place to explore and hike around. There are many creatures that inhabit these woods. Deer are plentiful and bears enjoy feasting on all of the wild strawberries, goose berries and rosehips. The Highland Valley wild horses roam freely around here as well. In the summer you can see cattle grazing in the grassy areas.
Follow Hwy 97C from Ashcroft approx. 16kms to the Highland Valley trailer park. Past the park you will see a swamp on the left hand side. Turn left on Coldstream Forest Service Road. Follow the road up until you see a Forest Service sign that says Coldstream Branch #4 Deactivated Road. Road is in decent shape but watch for ruts. Watch for logging trucks on the main service road.
