This many years ago was a wagon road that was used to bring the cattle down to the train in Ashcroft. The cattle were then shipped off to Vancouver to be sold. As mining sites were developed wagons began to bring up supplies to the mining camps that were dotted along the various areas of Glossy Mountain. Eventually mining progressed and so did transportation. Vehicles became the mode of transport and over time the big rig was no longer a freight wagon but a freight truck with trailers. These trucks can be seeing rolling up and down Hwy 97C taking ore down to the train in Ashcroft to be shipped off to Vancouver and then transported to various markets over seas. Cattle are left to graze through out the summer from local ranches and then rounded up and driven back down the hill in the late fall. This is a very beautiful and scenic drive in Gold Country. Follow Hwy 97C for at least 10km approx. On the right hand side there is an old section of road that has trees growing in it. Turn here and go over the cattle guard. Park on the right off of the road.
