Geocache Description:

The Hide: Please keep in mind the terrain rating for the hide. IT'S LOW! Please don't take any unnecessary risks. Read as DON'T CLIMB! Resist the temptation to rehide it better. Just a little beyond the point of concealment should be enough. The Back Story: Garrett Smith was an early owner of this farm and built this pond. The property later became the Hildebrant farm c.1800. A Mr. Justesen would later acquire part of the farm. As Mountain Lake was a popular tourist destination in the early 1900's, Mr. Justesen turned this property into a summer camp for the tourists. He named it Lake Just-It. Swimming, camping and fishing were the main attractions. Google earth still shows some of the cottages before they were razed. This is now part of Jenny Jump State Park. An interesting area to explore a little more. Enjoy the pond and the new dock. Bring the kids and your fishing gear. The sunnies are almost always to be caught at the spillway into the lower pond. Just watch for snakes. More fun to be had: Begin here to discover the old "Buzzards Glory" and "Otto" roads.
