We are hosting our very first event on the Big Blue River in Shelbyville. The paddle event will start at Blue River Memorial Park and wind thru Kennedy Park and finish at Sunset Park.
We will meet at the coordinates at 9:00 a.m. and be on the water by 9:30 a.m.
Bring your personal flotation device along with your kayak/canoe/boat.
There will be a .25 mile walk along a gravel path to the launch area.
Launch area is next to an elevated deck and is a narrow path next to the river.
Take out point is a concrete boat ramp.
Terrain rating is a 5 because of the use of watercraft and natures natural obstacles.
This is an event where you can bring the whole family and those not going on the water can enjoy our beautiful large parks and a picnic after we get off the water. So bring everyone and your picnic lunch and enjoy the day If you don't want to get on the water then you can just visit with friends.
