Is it Plum?
Of all the trees within the grove,
This one would not be my pick.
It is in the genus ‘prunus’ but it is not a plum.
And this all may sound kinda dumb.
But in fact it is a Bitter Cherry,
Producing a tiny unpalatable berry.
Even though you reject the fruit,
The birds the harvest are quick to loot.
The bark is strange it curls around,
Instead of the normal up and down.
So close beside this cherry tree
You know it – the cache will be!
