Geocache Description:

Located in the town of Holden MA on Wachusett Reservoir watershed property. Easy walking,30 minutes each way. Elevation 793 feet. Cache can be found 60 feet off the path.

Take Rte 140 to Rte 62 to Holden Road in Sterling. Parking area is l mile up Holden Road on the right on the Sterling/Holden line. Coordinates are 42° 25.274 and 071° 49.601.

As this is MDC property, no dogs are allowed. Take your binoculars; the bog has wood ducks and other birds.

Be sure to follow the main path out to the boardwalk on the edge of the bog. If you follow the right trails you will come within 60' of the cache. This area had a tornado touch down about 14 years ago and you can see evidence of this. Coordinates to the bog boardwalk entrance are 42 25.495N and 07l 50.225W. Note: This is not the cache location but the boardwalk entrance in case you are interested in checking out the bog. It is really a neat area, filled with bog plants such as pitcher plants, cranberries and tamarack trees. Also the bog "quakes" as you walk across the boardwalk. See pictures.
