When walking in the bush you see all sorts of interesting birds, animals and plants, however I bet you don't see too many of this character out there. Murtle will lead you to a place of tranquility where you can observe the local wildlife - if you're really quiet you might even be lucky enough to spot a deer!
This cache is located at Pretty Boy, on the way to Dargo. Pretty Boy is the starting point for a series of short to medium hikes, or if you're up to it, there's a 2 day hike (one way) available from here. It's highly recommended that you check with Parks Victoria if you're considering the 2 day adventure as we found the track to be extremely overgrown. On the shorter tracks you can see some old dam sites and mine sites from days gone by. The tracks are quite well marked and aren't too difficult to complete - just remember, where there's a downhill, there must also be an uphill. You will need to take your own maps so that you don't get lost. The walking tracks are know as Track 96 Goldfields walking tracks. Go to the website link to download some mud maps of the tracks. Take your camera for some great scenic photos, especially around the creeks.
To locate Murtle (guardian of the container) you will need to take a little walk – not too far. Inside the container you will find some swappables. Be sure to return Murtle to her original position.
