This is our 1st hide! This cache will bring you near an old, cold war era, NIKE missle site which use to be the last line of defense for Los Angeles to protect it from potential bombings. Some bushwhacking might be required.
**Congrats to 4in818 on FTF!**
During the 1950's & 60's, the LA-96 site was manned by the US Army & later the National Guard in order to watch over LA. 24 hours a day, people stationed here would use radar to scan the skies for any incoming missles or unknown aircrafts trying to attack the city. In the event of an attack, missles would be launched from silos throughout the valley & guided to their targets. When the military ended the NIKE protect in the 1970's, they decomissioned the site & removed almost everything. Maybe they left this behind.
