ABOUT THE LOCATION
Chiang Mai (เชียงใหม่) is the second largest city in Thailand, and home to many interesting architectural features - including the 800 year old moat which still surrounds the old city.
This gate, known as Suan Dok Gate (i.e. Flower Garden Gate), is named after King Kue Na's ancient flower garden from the year 1371, which was located near the current day Suan Dok Temple. The famous government hospital, located a few hundred meters East on Suthep Rd, is known as Suan Dok Hospital.
There's much to see and do and eat in this part of town. Take time to gaze at the ruins and imagine life as is may have been in the 1300's.
Renting a bicycle or motorbike will make finding the caches around the moat easier.
