Reading Series #5 - The Kitchen
How Geocaching Works
Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer
This is part of a series of caches around Reading Golf Course. It was planned to bring cachers closer to the spectacular and sometimes fairy tale like views of the course
The course at Reading Golf Club is a great test for golfers of all levels, making splendid use of the undulating wooded terrain of the Chiltern Hills. The trees and bunkers on the course, combined with the undulating ground, place a premium on accurate driving.
The course was redesigned in 1996 where various changes were made to the course, including the honour of having the biggest
combination 18th and practice putting green in Southern Africa. A bowling club with 3 greens also reside inside the grounds. Reading Country Estate entrance will also be visited while doing the caches. Please stay away from the electric fence around the course. Enjoy the view of this golf course from various angles while doing this series.
The published coordinates is the starting point of this multi cache and the log can not be found here. There is safe parking at this location. To solve the final coordinates and location of the cache, you need to look around at the starting point and get the following information:
I have been kept captive in a cage for a long time. I have limited view of the golf course, all I can see is chevron plates on the fence and steel man hole covers in the street. They have put my initials on me in big red letters.
If A=1 and B=2, calculate the total value of my initials and call it X
The number of chevrons on the fence = Y
The number of steel man hole covers in the street = Z
X times 4 = Q
The South coordinate 26 15. (3 digit number)
3 Digit number = (X times 53) - (4 times Y)
The East coordinate 28 06.(3 digit number)
3 Digit number = (Q times X) + 2Q - Z
The final location of coordinates is a stones throw from the starting point but please don’t walk, unless you have plenty of time and unless you are a keen golfer. Extremely high muggle area and your best stealth tricks will be tested. It is close to the " kitchen ". BYOP
