The Mighty Cedars of Lebanon and The Mighty Oaks of Bashan
Revisiting the biblical model of comparing the haughty with big trees, Isaiah tells us in Chapter 2
For the LORD of hosts will have his day
against all that is proud and arrogant,
against all that is high, and it will be brought low;
Yes, against all the cedars of Lebanon
and against all the oaks of Bashan ...
~Isaiah 2:12-13
So, what should we take away from all this? Well, in the context of this page, we should learn that Bashan had oaks, and that what is high should be brought low, signed, and then replaced up high again.
