Geocache Description:

Copper was mined in Gourock from the 18th century. The mine has long sinced closed, but there's an old rumour of a more valuable metal stashed in the hills above.

A small cache, hidden in the hills behind Gourock. From the start of the trail opposite the school go up the steps and along, follow the paved path that goes off to the right up the hill. Up more steps, over a little bridge, then up more steps. Just before the broken bridge, break right onto the moors, hundred yards or so up the grassy path, and just before the little drinking den look downhill to the right. There's a lonesome tree with a rock at its base.

There be treasure there!
