Can you find them? Do you remember playing marbles? This cache is an easy to find cache in a nice little park. The small cache is full of marbles to play a game if you like.
Please trade and leave only marbles as the cache container is very small. 2 large marbles and at least 15 small marbles should remain in the cache. There is also a piece of chalk that needs to stay in the cache to create the marble game board.
There are many different types of marble games. Instructions for two types of marble games are listed below. They can be played either on the gravel path, or on the basketball court using the chalk provided.
Basic Marble Game (2+ players):
1. Using chalk, draw a circle on the pavement about 50cm wide. (Or draw one in the gravel path) The larger the circle, the harder the game.
2. Place 10-15 small marbles randomly within the circle.
3. Select a big marble to use as your 'Shooter.'
4. Take turns shooting from outside the circle, trying to knock a small marble out of the circle with the large marble.
5. Collect the marbles that you knock out of the circle. The person who knocks the most marbles out wins!
Target / Point Based Marble Game (1 or more players):
1. Using chalk, draw a circle on the pavement about a metre wide. Within that circle draw three other circles, creating a target board effect. The inner (small) circle can be marked as worth 100 points. The next circles can be marked as 75, 50 and 25 points.
2. Draw a line 2 metres away to stand behind when rolling marbles towards the target.
3. Take turns rolling marbles towards the target. You can clear the target after each shot or leave the marbles on so that the possibility of knocking marbles out of the target is there. Add up your points to see who wins!
