For our anniversary we wanted to place a hide near where we were married, so on the above date just up the road as the fire roared closer and closer we said "I do" and got out of dodge. So we hope you enjoy the area as much as we do.
We arrived Friday afternoon, June 3rd, and were assured there was nothing to worry about even with the huge cloud of smoke the fire was over 20 miles away. Well about 7 hours later, about midnight, came a knock on the cabin door, it was the sherrifs with the evacuation orders. So the 30 of us discussed it and tried to think of a backup plan for the wedding that was to take place in 16 hours! Well A wanted to get married here!!! So get married there we did! Everyone up at 6 a.m. and getting ready! We hurried things along and were married by 10 a.m. and jumped in the cars and got out of town! As we were leaving it was us and the emergency personnel left in town, well at least it seemed that way! So we decided that this time through here, for our anniversary, we would leave a little something behind. Cache is a camo taped peanut butter container with some goodies and a Smokey Bear TB that wants to spread the word about forest fire safety that we picked up recently. It is hidden close to a pull out and just a little ways up the hill.
