Welcome to Gladys Morrell Nature Reserve!

WARNING: This Nature Reserve gets overgrown with Cane Grass VERY quickly. The property managers will do their best to keep it clear but be warned that you may need to navigate through some very high grass to get to this cache.
The entrance to this Nature Reserve is tricky to find. Be sure to use the trailhead coordinates provided and look for the green pillar with #36 on it, across the road from Seacliff Lane.

This small and tranquil 2 acre Bermuda National Trust property, located off of East Shore Road, just outside of Somerset Village, is another of Bermuda's hidden gems.

The reserve is named in memory of Gladys Carlyon De Courcy Misick Morrell (1888 - 1969), a founder and leading light of the Bermuda Women's Suffrage Society and founder of the Bermuda Welfare Society.

Many varieties of endemic trees flourish here, including Olivewood Bark and Bermuda Cedar. The reserve is also a natural nesting area of the Bluebird.

The Bermuda National Trust is a charity, established in 1970 to preserve natural, architectural and historic treasures and to encourage public appreciation for them. Its purpose is to ensure that Bermuda's unique heritage remains protected for future generations.

Through their active woodland management of the Gladys Morrell Nature Reserve, the Trust has removed many invasive plant species and replanted endemic and native species. They have also marked out a narrow pathway, weaving through the reserve, enabling an easy stroll through this peaceful get-a-way.

Admission is free and access is permitted from dawn till dusk.
