Geocache Description:

An ammo tin placed slightly off a non-maintained but well beaten track.

Please Bring Your Toy Soldiers!

Ground:

The hills above Trentham.

Situation:

A section of soldiers await supplementation and relief from observation duties in the hills above Trentham.

Mission:

To recruit soldiers of all types to provide a force element increase from section size (x10) to platoon size (x30) in order to provide force protection and security patrols for the military base no later than as soon as possible.

Execution:

You are to bring any or all of your toy soldiers and other related military paraphenalia and deposit in the ammo tin geocache to help this cause.

Admin and Logistics:

1. Find your way on foot up Tank Hill to the tanks. You could admire the view and pick up 'GC4618G Tanks for the view' while you are here.
2. Venture between the tanks up into the felled forestry area, following the beaten track leftwards towards Trailhead 1.
3. At Trailhead 1, take a right along the track towards the Trig Reference point 1.
4. The cache is approximately 15 m further along the track down the hill to where the slope stops, and about 5 m off the right side of the track.
5. Robust footwear is suggested.

Command and Signals:

Record the number of army men deposited in the log book and report your visit on this log page ensuring you keep a running tally.

Design for Battle!

Recruit, the mission begins with a slightly arduous walk up the gravel road of Tank Hill. We will have smoko at the tanks followed by the final push up a track well used by runners, past the trig to the cache location. When we arrive and the scouts locate the cache, we will deposit toy soldiers with the appropriate supplies, complete the paperwork, and report back to HQ.
