For more then nineteen years a special person has been part of my life and I think yours. That Person, Teacher, Mentor Friend was “Huell Howser.” He was able to uncover events, art, and ways of life, food and people that are and were important to the history of California. He dared to try foods from different cultures and was brave enough to go where most of us couldn’t or wouldn’t go. He rarely brought a controversial response to his subject matter but had an open mind. He showed us a history of California that we never would have gotten in a class room. He was personable and genuinely honest with everyone he met. He had a way of capturing his audience and brought them into his story. I always wished that I was there with him. In fact, I went on more adventures because of him. And, I just had to see it for my self. Huell Howser, Thanks for being part of our lives and part of our California’s Gold.
