Dalmuir Park was established in 1906 from the former landscape of Dalmuir House to provide the local community with an essential green space in what was a heavily industrial area. Built on a hill top, the park still reflects its 18th-century heritage: the fountain and former bandstand were constructed in 1907 and turned the park into the focal point of social activity including a number of political rallies between 1945 and 1963.
The park sits in a secluded location just north of Dumbarton Road in an area of within the former village of Dalmuir, now part of Clydebank. It is a large park located on a south - facing hillside bounded to the west by the Duntocher Burn and to the north by the fine 18-hole Dalmuir Municipal Golf Course.
Spread over seven hectares the park has an established footpath system from which panoramic views can seen of the surrounding landscape. There are established woodlands; seasonal floral displays and Herbaceous and Ornamental shrub planting; childrens' play facility catering for a wide range of age groups; bowling greens; weir and sluice gates with managed water courses; a pond and waterside walk.
