The beavers are getting a bit of a bad rap here. Giardiasis, commonly known as Beaver Fever, is an intestinal infection caused by the parasitic, single-celled, nasty #@!$% Giardia lamblia.
Beaver Fever generally travels the fecal-oral route, meaning that it originates in infected feces and is ingested orally. This most often happens by drinking infected water. The origin could be from horses, cattle, muskrats, humans, dogs, cats, Bigfoot ... but the beaver seems to be getting much of the blame here.
SO, if you work up a powerful thirst while looking for this cache, don't have a drink from the river unless you properly filter or otherwise treat the water. Your intestines will thank you for it.
This cache is located on the Beaver River Canoe Route, and is accessible by watercraft only.
