This location used to be the Blackwater junction on the Dublin to Wexford coach road. It's hard to envisage this peaceful location as being a major intersection in the past. While the coach road is still accessable for motor vehicles, the branch is now so overgrown that only 4x4 vehicles can now attempt this route (and I'm not sure if this is permissible/possible).
The location is known locally by the name Shiltan, however the meaning of the name, whether it derives from Irish or English has been lost in time.
Nearby, there is a well of local historic significance (which gives the area its name) - access to the well however is currently very difficult due to many years growth of the surrounding hedges - there are plans to clear a way to the well in the near future and also possibly to place a memorial stone here as part of the walk.
The cache is a small round container with room for small swaps and trackables. It's located a short distance down the junction.
The picture above is a minor spoiler as it was taken from the cache location - but also be aware that the place doesn't look nearly as wild any more as a lot of money and volunteer work has been spent in the mean time clearing up the area of the well (behind the car) and informative inscribed stones placed.
