Welcome to El Salto Canyoncito, within the historic El Salto del Agua Land Grant. This trail follows the Arroyo Seco creek up the canyon. Please respect these beautiful surroundings: the southern hillside marks the Taos Pueblo boundary, and the trail leads to the National Forest at the top.
Welcome to El Salto Canyoncito, a spectacular trail tracking the steady flow of the Arroyo Seco creek through the historic El Salto del Agua Land Grant. This path offers a steady, scenic climb through the canyon. If you follow the trail far enough, it eventually climbs into the National Forest and connects to the high ridgelines that lead back into the rugged Wheeler Peak Wilderness area.
As you enjoy the hike, please remain highly aware of your surroundings and respect the local geography. The southern hillside running alongside you marks the strict boundary of the Taos Pueblo Reservation. Please stay on the designated trail system and respect these neighboring tribal lands.
