As you probably already know, Grandma Moses found her donkey George on a farm outside the Kentucky Derby. George was running so fast he could easily compete in the race. Grandma Moses bought him right then and there from the Kentuckian farmer and has had many adventures with him since.
One day Grandma Moses rode George down to the local swim hole. A bunch of neighborhood kids were already there. Grandma Moses thought it might be a little strange for a 70 year-old woman and her donkey to take a dip among the youngsters so she let George have a drink, and they turned around and left.
