Geocache Description:


You are seeking a short two stage multi cache that begins at the grave marker for Roland Washington Englebert, a Veteran of the Civil War.

Roland was son of Frederick Englebert and Peachy. He was married to 2 wives in North Carolina and his third in Tuscaloosa Alabama. His 2nd wife died during childbirth.

During the civil war he enlisted in Confederate Army December 13, 1861 with Captain Freeman's Prison Guards . His unit guarded Union thousands of prisoners held at Salisbury Confederate Prison. He was paroled at the end of the war by the Federal Government in 1865 at Salisbury, North Carolina.
