The City of Brewton would like to invite all geocachers from around the area to the First Burnt Corn Creek Poker Run in the Downtown Burnt Corn Park. Geocachers will have the opportunity to explore almost 50 acres of undeveloped land that the city will develop into an RV campground, recreational pond, Zip line course, amphitheater, preserved CCC campground remains, and much much more.
The Poker Run will consist of event caches that will need to be found in which the cacher will randomly retrieve a secret card from each of their six targeted caches. After all six caches are found or the end of three hours, return to registration and see what cards you have chosen and what poker hand you will be playing with against others to win the grand prize. Prizes will be awarded to first, second, and third place winners. Winners will be announced at the awards ceremony that evening in the downtown park, there will also be live entertainment to round out the evening.
Registration begins at 9:30 AM
Shuttles will begin loading up cachers to take them to the entrance of the undeveloped land at 11:00 AM
All cachers have until 2:00 PM to find as many of the six caches as they can.
Cachers will then turn in their cards. At 2:00 PM A food vender will be in the park for cachers to buy lunch. (Menu and price will be announced once finalized)
At 6:00 PM Awards ceremony will begin and live entertainment will finish out the evening of a fun filled day of cacheing.
New caches will be published so cachers can explore town from 3 till 6 while Winners are chosen and live entertainment sets up.
Also, three other events will be published during the weekend as well. Friday evening August 2nd will be am intro to Geocaching for locals to come and learn about our exciting game. Saturday Morning there will be a breakfast meet and greet. Sunday Morning we will have a CITO to help clean up the park. There will even be a special surprise for cachers who stay for the CITO. Local hotels rooms are being negotiated for special rates for those who wish to stay the night for the CITO.
We are in the process of gathering as many local and national sponsors for giveaways and prizes for the winners of the poker run.

Event shirts have been designed by a well known Geocoin Artist.
Preorder your events shirts before July 22nd. Shirts are priced at $10(S-XL) and $13(2X+). Shirt price will go up for day of event, and limited sizes will be on hand. Please message me for shirt order and I will let you know the process, info on ordering is also on the Facebook page.
