Join us for the 4th annual celebration of time (and an extra hour of sleep) ... The Fallback Gathering!
Daylight Savings Time ends at 2:00 am on Sunday, November 3rd. To celebrate this occasion we are hosting a gathering of geocachers at Ada Park to enjoy doughnuts and cider, raffle off several items, and make new caches available.
The event will begin at 2:00 pm at the posted coordinates.
We've rented a covered pavilion (never can tell what weather will be like in November) so this event will go on regardless of what Michigan throws at us. There are several tables there and porta-johns located in the park (the attached bathrooms have already had their water turned off by the time of this event, sorry). At a nearby brick-grill we will be cooking hot spiced cider.
There will be a table setup where you can sign the logbook, get a ticket for the raffle, and exchange trackables. A large playground right next to the pavilion is popular with the kids.
P@thtag Raffle
Bring your "signature p@thtags" with you (ones that have your caching name on it). Drop them in the large bucket at the raffle ticket table. During the raffle drawings, we'll pull one p@thtag out of the bin. Whoever's tag it is ... wins the entire bucket of p@thtags! You can put as many in the bucket as you wish (to increase the odds) but it has to be your sig tag (so we know who wins).
Geocache Shared FTFs
We are going back to how we did it with the first Fallback Gathering in that everyone who attends the event and finds the caches the day of the event, can claim a shared-FTF. People seemed to like this plus it's easier to manage. Currently there are two caches for the event but this number may grow. If you would like to place a cache for the event (but owned by you) to be included in this shared FTF, talk to Bret or Tina
Please log a “will attend” with how many are in your party, so we can get an idea on how much cider & doughnuts to purchase
And if you forget to move your clock backward, you'll be an hour early for the event!
