Geocache Description:

No, this isn't about depressing things in Monmouth! Or an obsure football club! The Monmouth Blues refers to the blue plaques that are dotted around Monmouth at points of historical interest.

As with many towns in the UK there are a number of these blue plaques dotted around the town of Monmouth pointing out sites of historical interest or importance, and Monmouth, being the principal town of Monmouthshire, has quite a few for a small town. These plaques have been put up by both Monmouth Town Council and Monmouth Civic Society over the years.

The idea of the cache is easy - you just need to locate the plaques pictured below and find out the number that I have covered over for each plaque. These numbers will replace the letters in the cache position co-ordinate below to give you the cache position.

The tricky bit is finding the blue plaques, however Monmouth is not a large town and all the plaques are in plain view - you might just need to wander around a bit to find them.

The published co-ords above are for a car park (directions to it on the waypoint) that is well situated for access (especially from the A40 dual carriageway) and well situated for the task (just go to the top of the car park to get to the main town). Although there are other car parks around Monmouth of course.

So here we go. Find the plaques and the obscured number, replace the letter of the image with that number to convert the co-ord below, and there you have it.

Stealth is needed at the final cache position as it is fairly busy and as usual, please ensure the cache is tucked back in once you're done (watch out for those muggles).
