Geocache Description:

This cache is found in an undeveloped shoreline area across University Avenue from McLaughlin Eastshore State Park that provides lovely views of the the bay and the Bay Bridge.

This cache is another of my "wild bird caches"--each of which is named after wild bird species that are commonly found near GZ.

This one is dedicated to the Brown Pelican which is one of the best known and most prominent birds found in the coastal areas of the southern and western United States.

It is one of only three pelican species found in the Western Hemisphere and one of only two pelican species (along with the White Pelican) which feeds by diving into the water.

Often seen soaring along just above the surface of the bays and oceans alone or in small to moderate flocks, the most familiar characteristic of the Brown Pelican is its large bill which has a large pouch used to scoop fish from the water.

Near GZ, you will find a small bench which provides a great place to relax, enjoy the view and maybe even see a pelican!

Muggles are typically not too much of a problem here but keep an eye out just to be safe.

I hope you enjoy the cache container and please use care in replacing it.
