The El Corte de Madera Open Space, in the hills about Woodside and Menlo Park, is arguably the largest and loveliest redwood-forested areas in the San Francisco Bay Area, clearly in a league with Big Basin Redwoods. There are miles of hiking trails, all in excellent condition, some with breathtaking views. Don't just sit there -- come and enjoy the scenery!
The cache is located along the aptly-named Timberview Trail, which in an area where superlatives are useless, exceeds even those -- gorgeous forest in every direction, for a full half mile of its length.
