Η περιοχή, που τώρα είναι τα καφενεδάκια, γνώρισε μεγάλη κίνηση από την αρχαιότητα. Αναφέρεται σε κείμενα και περιγραφές ταξιδιωτών σε όλες τις εποχές και ήταν σε δρόμο με μεγάλη κίνηση μέχρι πριν λίγα χρόνια οπότε μια παράκαμψη, συντόμευσε την διαδρομή και έκρυψε την ομορφιά της από όσους απλά βιάζονται να φτάσουν, αλλά δεν χαίρονται το ταξίδι.
Τα κτίρια έπαιζαν τον ρόλο του εμπορικού καταστήματος, του καφενείου, του εστιατορίου, και σαν χάνια - ξενοδοχεία της εποχής - για ύπνο και ξεκούραση ανθρώπων και ζώων που αναγκαστικά διανυκτέρευαν εκεί, πριν συνεχίσουν τον προορισμό τους.
Τώρα είναι καφενεία-εστιατόρια με πελάτες κυνηγούς, βοσκούς και αγρότες. Εδώ θα σταματήσουν ακόμη και όσοι εκτιμούν την ησυχία, το πράσινο και την ομορφιά. Το κρυστάλινο νερό που τρέχει ασταμάτητα ολο τον χρόνο θα σας ξεδιψάσει και οι γύρω σας κήποι με λαχανικά, καρυδιές, καστανιές και κερασιές είναι γεμάτοι πουλιά.
Το κουτί είναι μικρού μεγέθους, και προσβάσιμο όλες τις ώρες και εποχές. Αν χρειαστείτε βοήθεια η συνιδιοκτητρια του καφενείου Χρυσούλα γνωρίζει γι'αυτό, και είναι πολύ φιλική. Ρωτήστε γιά γλυκά και αφεψήματα, αν σας ενδιαφέρουν. Είναι παραγωγός και γνωρίζει πολλά για την περιοχή. Συμβουλευτείτε την για κρυμένες ομορφιές και ενδιαφέροντα σημεία, αν σας αρέσει το περπάτημα.
This area where the 2 cafes (taverns) are located, was well known since antiquity. It is mentioned in texts and described by travelers in all era's since it was on a road with heavy traffic. Unfortunately a few years ago a new road was built bypassing the valley so the travelers miss this beautiful area.
The cafes (kafeneia) were not just cafes, they were taverns, shops and inns where the travelers could rest and spend the night before they continued their trip.
Now they’re just cafes and taverns and their customers are hunters, shepherds and farmers. This is the place to stop and enjoy the beautiful and peaceful valley.
The crystal clear water running nonstop all over the year will quench your thirst. The vegetable gardens as well as the walnut, chestnut and cherry trees are full of birds.
The box is small and accessible at all times and seasons. If you need help, Chrishoula, the co-owner of the coffee shop know about it, and she is very friendly. Ask for sweets and beverages, or beer and ouzo! They are farmers too and most of what they serve is their own produce. They also know a lot about the area. If you like walking they can direct you to some interesting places. Enjoy.
