Pineapple Flat Traditional Cache

Pineapple Flat is 10 km north of Mt Stirling in the western reaches of the park. It is reached via Burnt Top Track, which branches off King Basin Rd, which runs off Circuit Rd and is for 4WD only. Please consult the Parks website as tracks in this area are closed from Queens Birthday weekend in June until Cup Day weekend in November. Tracks may also be closed at other times.
Note** You will need to save this cache offline as mobile service is marginal at GZ. Also please note that access to this area is restricted from the Thursday after Queens Birthday weekend in June to Melbourne Cup Day weekend in November, but depending on weather conditions may be closed earlier.
A nice camping spot with a drop toilet awaits you just past a river crossing. The river crossing was ok, but could be high in peak times.
While we were there, some Kookaburras were watching us, so we threw some ham scraps out for them andf they flew down to have lunch in great camera view.
The cache is located in the only building an the campsite. Most of you will need to vist here during your brief stopover or overnight stay. BYO pen.
